The results and figures: Saint-Petersburg passed the final performances

December 14 in St. Petersburg performances of "Toys" in the framework of the program of the festival NET and "Preparatio Mortis" Jan Fabre in the framework of the 100th anniversary of the BDT after G. A. Tovstonogov completed an extensive program of Theatre Olympics in 2019, one of the key events of the Year Theatre. It took place from March to December with a truly Olympic scale: in 26 cities of Russia held more than 480 events, which were attended by over 100 thousand spectators.

 

In total, the Theatre Olympiad, 2019 participated 82 theatre group from 22 countries. In addition to Russia, Japan, China, India, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, UK, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, Israel, Lithuania, Austria. In the framework of the Olympic program made 51 foreign and 31 of the Russian team. The program was the tour of the national theatres of Russia from Yakutsk, Kazan, Ulan-Ude, Ufa, Elista, Grozny, and Petrozavodsk.

Special programs and projects of the Theatre Olympics in our country were held in 26 cities in 8 Federal districts — Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Pskov, Velikiy Novgorod, Sochi, Volgograd, Vladikavkaz, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Petrozavodsk, Izhevsk, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Kerch, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta.

From June to December in the framework of the Olympics in all regions of our country were 135 performances, 380 impressions. 37 performances were shown in Russia for the first time.

In addition, part of the events, the audience could also watch the live broadcast on the official website and social networks Theatre Olympiad, 2019: a total of 70 broadcasts, which in total scored over 12 million views. Of them broadcast 15 productions of the Olympic games program has collected more than 3 800 000 views.

The purpose of the Theatre Olympics is uniting different theatre schools, the dialogue of their founders, both among themselves and with the audience, who happened to see the most complete and vivid picture of the modern theatrical process. The motto of the International theatre Olympiad, 2019: "to Create, bringing together" (Creating Bridges).

In 2019, meeting the 25th anniversary of the founding, Theatre Olympiad was held for the ninth time and for the first time in two countries — in Russia and in Japan, where it was held from 23 August to 23 September. Between the countries was organized by mutual exchange program. Japan was represented in St. Petersburg two performances Tadashi Suzuki in November, and Russia presented in the Toga productions of the Alexandrinsky theatre and unique national ensemble of throat singing from Tuva Alash in August of this year.

Russian Theatre Olympiad was launched in March 2019 special project of the Alexandrinsky theatre in ICC "Artek". The programme of the Olympiad in Artek every shift there were master-classes of leading creative professionals Alexandrinsky theatre and teachers from the Russian state Institute of performing arts (LISI) Directors, theater historians and theater critics, playwrights, artists, sound designers, teachers of movement, speech and vocal. During the work of the youth Olympic venues was held 54 events, including master classes, rehearsals, meetings, performances with the participation of more than 6,000 of the Artek campers.

The main city of carrying out of the Theatre Olympics in Russia was Saint Petersburg, and its main venue and the main co – organizer of the Alexandrinsky theatre. June 15 in St. Petersburg on Ostrovsky square was the start of the Theatrical Olympic games 2019. The Opening ceremony was held in the format of large-scale city festival — festival of street theatres. The celebration was attended by over 12 000 residents and guests of our city. The Director of the Opening ceremony was the main Director of Aleksandrinsky theatre Nikolay Roshchin, artist Alexei Tregubov.

In St. Petersburg held the International Committee of Theatre Olympics, 2019, which brought together the best performances world stage. The programme was presented productions of such theatrical greats as Robert Wilson, Christian lupa, Heiner Goebbels, Minister Theodoros Terzopoulos, Simon Macburnie, Dimitris Papaioannou, Andrei Serban and Tadashi Suzuki. The programme of the International Committee of Theatre Olympics 2019 included 27 performances from 16 countries, including performances from Canada, Germany, great Britain, Greece, China and India.

In the Olympics its programs in St. Petersburg presented the largest Russian theatre festivals: international theatre festival. Anton Chekhov, the Summer festival of the arts "access Point", international theatre festival "Baltic house" festival "Golden mask". Epilogue Olympiad began staging the festival NET (New European Theatre) festival in the theatre of Jan Fabre. Official closing of the Theatrical Olympic games 2019 held on 15 November in the framework of the VIII St. Petersburg international cultural forum at the Mariinsky theatre. But the events of Billboard Theatre Olympiad 2019 lasted until mid-December.

During the Theatrical Olympic games 2019 held extensive scientific and educational program. It included master classes for young professionals theatre under the guidance of the world's best filmmakers, and lectures with the participation to a wider audience, as well as activities in the framework of St. Petersburg international cultural forum and visiting session of the conference of the Institute of theater, the project "Golden mask".

In June passed a special program of the Theatre Olympics, 2019 in the far Eastern Federal district. It included 12 shows performances of Russian and foreign theatres, master classes and theatrical laboratory.

The Theater Olympics of 2019 was a tour of St. Petersburg theatres in the Russian regions. Thus constructed the "Olympic theatre bridge" in different regions of Russia. In the period from August 28 to December 13 was shown 22 performances in Russian cities: Sochi, Perm, Vladikavkaz, Vladivostok, Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Petrozavodsk.

And from 12 to 29 October youth theatres of the European theatre schools presented their performances in Saint-Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Pskov, Veliky Novgorod.

The next Theatre Olympics may be held in Hungary in 2023. Readiness to conduct Theatre Olympics in 2023, declared the Secretary-General for culture of the Ministry of social development of Hungary péter Fekete and artistic Director of the Hungarian National theatre Attila Vidnyansky at a press conference in the framework of the VIII St. Petersburg international cultural forum. My request they addressed the International Committee of Theatre Olympics, in the person of its founder and President Theodoros of Terzopoulos and member of the International Committee and the artistic Director of Alexandrinsky theatre Valery Fokin. The representative of the Hungarian Ministry of social development has arrived at the international cultural forum to announce this initiative, emphasizing its particular importance for the country. The international Committee plans to consider the next Theatre Olympiad in Hungary.
