"Higher than the Mountains" is based on old Chechen folk stories. Three legends: about mercy and forgiveness, about sacrificial love, and about being faithful to your word are joined together by a common storyline and convey the moral code of the people, the inner law that is "Higher than the Mountains."

The performance premiered in Moscow, at the stage of the Russian Academic Youth Theatre, followed by a performance in Grozny at the Chechen theatre's own stage. The event became a landmark in the theatre's life because the Company had not been on tour for 33 preceding years.
